Advisor Highlight - Ruth in the News!

Be sure to check out the Panhellenic Newsletter!  Here's a spotlight on our very own Advisory Board Chairman Ruth Miller from the newsletter!

Ruth Killion Miller is the Kappa Alpha Theta Advisory Board Chairman, and has been an extraordinary role model for Theta as well as members of the Greek community. Raised in Waco, this ambitious, blonde bombshell was a Cotton Palace Queen and Baylor grad that played a key role in bringing Panhellenic sororities to Baylor, and helped establish Theta as the first national sorority on Baylor’s campus in 1976. She is the President and owner of the 105 year-old company Percy Medicine and has two grown sons with her husband. She enjoys the outdoors and watching sports and also loves to read, quilt, and cook.

Ruth has held many positions within Theta throughout her college and alumnae experience and served as the social chair and recruitment chair in school and as the College District President for four years, the Advisory Board Chairman on two separate occasions, and the Education Advisor after graduation. About two years ago, our Baylor chapter experienced a great loss when our former Advisory Board Chairman Amy Mann passed away suddenly from health-related causes. It was hard for the members who loved her dearly, but Ruth graciously stepped in at a time of need with a desire to preserve her friend’s legacy as well as build a new foundation for growth in the chapter – and Ruth has done just that! She is a constant source of knowledge and support and is 100% dedicated to helping push the chapter forward in every aspect. She is a kind and caring person, and will always go the extra mile with everything she does. Miller states, “We always say Theta is for a lifetime, and I love working with the chapter because I enjoy having the opportunity to encourage and give back to the organization that has given so much to me.” The members of Theta love and respect Ruth and appreciate all of the hours she puts in to our chapter.

When talking about our beloved advisor, Callie Redding states, “Ruth is such an amazing inspiration to work with; she constantly pushes you to become a better woman and to remember the bigger picture. Her love for Theta is exceeded by one thing, her passion for the young women who become members of the Epsilon Epsilon chapter at Baylor University.”
